Piraeus belongs to the North climatic zone of Greece. It is the southwestern coastal district of Piraeus, located east of the central port of Piraeus. It is bordered on the north by the Κallipoli with the boundary of Filikis Etairias street , on the east by the Agios Basileios with the boundary of Dragoumi street , on the west and south it is bordered by the Saronic Gulf .Along the beach of Piraeus are the Ancient Long Walls that protected the main settlement of Athens and its port.The below diagram illustrates the course of the sun and the direction of the prevailing winds during a year. The months chosen as stations for sunshine are July, March and December. While for the detection of the prevailing winds in winter and summer , the period October-January and the period May-August were chosen. It is therefore observed that during the winter solstice, the prevailing wind is from the north-west, with the result that it does not have much effect on the site, as the bay is surrounded by tall buildings. On the contrary, during the summer period, the prevailing wind is southerly and has a strong influence on the site.Converted into an ecological park and information area. Aim to create a peaceful environment for the inhabitants of the area, to inform and raise awareness of the environment and its preservation and to highlight the culture of the region.
